Jon’s story.

“2020 has been a difficult year for everyone but clearly some have been more affected than others. Having had a lot of support from the Weymouth Community after starting my new business venture, I wanted to look for ways to give back in return.

I have never been a runner and at 56 years of age could not see me starting to put the lycra on so I have looked for something that most of us could do and that is walk. My day consists of working up to 12 hours, so I will be walking every day come rain or shine or even snow but will have to fit in around my work by doing t his very early in the morning or later in the evening.  However, I will do two fixed walks a week when anybody can come and join me and support or just give a bit of extra exercise (depending on latest lockdown rules). These will be every Sunday at 9.3 and every Thursday at 7pm starting at the Oasis café at Overcombe and walking to Weymouth Pavilion and back.  This is 4.51 miles.  The £500km walk will finish when it finishes but could take 2 months which will help extend the fund-raising period.

As a local Estate Agent, I pledge to give £50 for every one of my personal completed sales throughout 2021. This is in addition to the £1500 target I have given and would like to smash.”
