The demand for the Foodbank continues to show significant increase,  In the 5 months to May 2023 we had 2920 referrals compared with 1621 referrals in the equivalent period in 2022.  This represents an increase of 80%.  In these 5 months we fed 5885 people compared with 3082 in the equivalent period in 2022. This is an increase of 90%.  This is a higher increase than the number of referrals because we are now feeding more families.

We can only meet this demand due to the generosity of individuals, community groups, churches and businesses in our community, for which we are very grateful.  We are now having to buy significant amounts of food to top up the food donations. We will continue to rely on both food and financial donations to feed hungry people in our town.
